Supplies Bible, Cross, Candle 

InstructionsModify these to meet your family’s needs

    1. Choose a family member to be the Leader this week. You can have a different leader each week!
    2. Gather in a place you can all sit and see each other. You can even change where you meet each week!
    3. Place a Cross, Bible, and Candle in the center.
    4. Light the candle & take some deep breaths. Focus on the candle to prepare for your time together.

 

Share… Share what you are feeling and experiencing this week

  • How are you feeling today…
  • How did you encounter Jesus this week…
  • What challenges did you encounter…

 

Read…  Read the scripture together

John 6:51-58

Animated Bible Story

 

Talk /Journal… Discuss or journal about the following questions

  • What is your favorite part of the story? What challenged you?
  • What did you hear or learn that you didn’t know before?
  • What is something that was hard to believe when you first heard it?
  • When do you find it hard to believe in God?
  • Do you believe that what you believe is really real?

 

Pray… Choose a family member to pray or pray together the following prayer

Lord to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. Alleluia. Amen

 

Bless… While making the sign of the cross on each others forehead or hand say

(Name), Child of God, you have been filled with Jesus. Go and share the bread.

 

Optional Activity:

Family Communion Cups

DEcorate a family cup to use with your family to use when you celebrate worship at home.

Supplies: clear Wine glass from the dollar store, paint pens or sharpies

Instructions:

  • Use paint pens to personalize a cup.
  • Use glass in worship for communion
  • Wash by hand 🙂

You can also decorate a plate!

 

Honey Hawaiian Bread for Communion

Make bread for family communion this week. Make and bring bread to worship to be blessed then share communion at home during the week and celebrate the life we have in Christ and all of the ways he is our Bread of Life.
