Adult Care Ministry

A group designated to care for members by providing emotional and spiritual support.

  • Befriends parents with chronically ill children.
  • Prepares meals for members with illness or in crisis. Befriends adults with chronic illness.
  • Arrange transportation to doctor appointments.
  • Provides light housework, yard work, grocery shopping etc.
  • Visit members with illness/crisis at home or hospital.
  • Provides respite care.

Men’s Breakfast

Join this breakfast group to enjoy fellowship around the Lord’s word! They meet the 1st Tuesday of every month at 6:30 am in the Fellowship hall. Currently discussing:  The Jewish Gospels: The Story of the Jewish Christ.  The breakfast responsibility is shared among the group.

Men’s Study Group

Meets the second, third, and fourth Tuesday morning at 6:30 at the Church. The discussion is guided by books selected to focus on discipleship, prayer, faith, and service based on Biblical principles. The group shares life experiences and supports each other with prayer and compassion. Began discussing on 2/11/2020:  The Prophetic Imagination by Walter Bruggemann.  Good fellowship, good discussion, and lots of coffee!

O.W.L.’s (Older Wiser Lutherans)

A small group designed for those 65 and older desiring fellowship and activities throughout the year at a slower pace. We meet the first Wednesday of every month in the Fellowship Hall for a potluck followed by a guest speaker or activity.

Prayer Shawl Group

Prayer Shawl/Blanket Ministry

This is a small group ministry that meets monthly on the third Saturday at 9:00 am in the church library to create prayer shawls/blankets for those in need.   The shawls/blankets are covered in prayer during their creation along with praying for the recipients. Each prayer shawl/blanket will be blessed by the pastor and available for members of the congregation whom we are praying for and for their families.  If you knit, crochet, quilt or can cut fleece and are interested in participating please contact Rhonda Raphael at [email protected] for more information.

This is a small group open to all women interested in a monthly Bible study. We meet the 3rd Thursday of each month at 11:30 a.m. at Blue Baker on University Drive in College Station; leader changes each time. Currently discussing:  “The Liturgy of the Ordinary” by Tish Harrison Warren. Please bring your Bible and plan to join us for a light Bible study and fellowship. If you plan to eat lunch, please bring money for food.  All ladies are invited!
