• Council voted unanimously that no materials be distributed to the congregation prior to the listening sessions.
  • Pastor Van Haneghan shared that he had learned from the Bishop’s office that all actions associated with Pastor Meier’s recent call to First Lutheran in Nashville TN occurred after he had resigned from Peace. Travis had not taken any action to seek another call until after he had left Peace.
  • After discussing the documentation to be retained in Travis Meier’s personnel file, the following actions were taken.
    • In the summary of Pastor Meier’s service at Peace, which was previously distributed to the congregation in October 2021, the following amendment was approved. The sentence “He made the difficult decision that serving at Peace is not conducive to his sobriety and mental health and we all desire Pastor Travis’ good health.” was replaced with “He made the decision that serving at Peace was not a good fit for him and his wife. Pastor Travis’s extended absences, while necessary for his health, caused confusion and disruption for Peace.”  The amended summary was placed in his personnel file.
    • Additional documents provided by council members and staff detailing issues that occurred during the service period of Pastor Meier were also to be included with the summary document.
