Education, Youth, & Family Ministry

Purpose:

To serve the mission of the congregation to make disciples by maximizing the fullest possible involvement of youth and families in the congregation, both through parish education and youth activities

Committee Functions:

  • To charge Ministry Teams with goals consistent with the mission of the congregation and the purpose of the committee
  • To recruit and provide training for Ministry Team leaders
  • To help implement the strategic plan
  • To identify ministry areas and develop new Ministry Teams as needed

Ministry Teams:

  • Sunday School (2-18):  Plan and oversee all educational activities for children, primarily on Sunday mornings
  • Sunday School (Adult):  Plan and oversee all educational activities for adults, primarily on Sunday mornings
  • Seasonal Teams:  Vacation Bible School, Children’s Christmas Program, Good Friday
  • Grade 3-6 Youth:  Develop, plan, and oversee youth group activities for children and families of pre-confirmation age
  • Grade 7-9 Youth:  Support, provide assistance, evaluate the confirmation instruction and activities
  • Grade 10-12, LYO:  Maintain a leadership team of youth and adults working together to plan and implement a variety of activities for high school age youth

Ongoing Ministries and Events:

Youth Sunday School:  Join us each Sunday as we grow together in our faith in Christ Jesus and learn to serve the world around us!

  • When: Each Sunday from 10:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (after Church Service)
  • Ages: 2 years through 12th Grade

Confirmation Ministry:  Join us for educational ministry for our youth preparing for confirmation!

  • Ages: 7th and 8th grade youth
  • Small Group Bible Study: Wednesdays  @ 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.

Peer Ministry:  Join us for educational ministry for 9th grade youth!

  • Ages: 9th grade
  • When: Wednesday 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Lutheran Youth Organization (LYO):  Join us for devotions, games, fellowship and prayer – all are welcome!

  • When: Wednesday 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. during the regular school year
  • Ages: 10th through 12th grade youth
